This check measures your own connection from the browser you are reading in. It cannot poll the operator's servers directly — no third-party site can, and any page claiming a live green light for someone else's platform is guessing. Combine the result below with the symptom table further down.
What Happens to Your Bet When It Crashes
This is the question that actually matters, and the answer is more reassuring than the panic suggests. Nothing important happens in your browser. The spin, the hand and the bet are all resolved on the operator's servers, and your screen is a display of a result that has already been decided elsewhere.
So a spin that reached the server completes. If the connection dropped before it arrived, the stake was never taken. There is no in-between state where money vanishes — although there is a lag of a few minutes before the balance reconciles, which is what makes it feel like there is.
Slots
The round is settled server-side and appears in the game's round history. Reopen the game and check that log before you contact anyone — the result will be there.
Live dealer
The table keeps dealing whether you can see it or not. A bet placed before betting closed stands and is settled at the table. Nothing you do offline changes the outcome.
Sports bets
An accepted bet has a reference number and stands. A bet still spinning on "placing" when the connection died was never accepted, and the stake stays in your balance.
Fixes by Symptom
Match what you are seeing to the left column. In most cases the fix is on your side and takes under a minute.
| What you see | Most likely cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Blank white page | Stale cached script | Hard reload, then a private window |
| Login spins forever | Session token expired | Clear cookies for the domain and sign in again |
| "Restricted location" | VPN or geolocation blocked | Disable the VPN, allow location access, reload |
| Games load, cashier fails | Payment provider outage | Try one other method, then wait — see payment methods |
| One game will not open | Supplier-side maintenance | Nothing to fix — other titles from the same studio confirm it |
| Site loads on mobile, not desktop | DNS cache or an extension | Disable ad blockers, flush DNS, retry |
| Balance looks wrong after a crash | Reconciliation lag | Wait five minutes, then check round history before raising it |
Error Codes, Translated
403 / Access denied
A geolocation or jurisdiction block. Your traffic is being read as coming from somewhere the account is not licensed for. VPN off, location on.
502 / 504 Gateway
The operator's own servers are not answering their front door. Genuinely their side, genuinely temporary — usually minutes rather than hours.
503 Service unavailable
Maintenance, planned or otherwise. If it appears overnight Eastern Time it is almost certainly a scheduled window.
Session expired
Inactivity timeout, or the same account signed in from a second device. Sign out everywhere and back in once.
Game temporarily unavailable
The game studio, not the casino. Nothing on your side will change it and it typically clears within the hour.
Transaction declined
Not an outage at all. Card issuer, limit or verification — the five causes are set out on the payment methods page.
The 60-Second Diagnostic
Work down this list. The first step that changes the behaviour tells you where the problem lives, and you can stop there.
Open a different site. If that fails too, the problem is your connection and nothing else on this list applies.
Try a private window. Works there but not in your normal window? Cache or an extension. Clear both and you are done.
Switch off Wi-Fi and use mobile data. If it loads on cellular, your home ISP route or router DNS is the culprit.
Turn off any VPN and re-enable location. The single most common cause of a Canadian player being told they are in a restricted location.
Ask someone else in the province to load it. Two devices on different networks failing together is a genuine outage. One device failing is not.
Outage Log
Incidents reported to us by Canadian players, kept as a running record. Times are Eastern. This is a reader-reported log rather than an operator status feed — it shows the pattern, not every event.

What Players Reported
"Screen froze mid-spin on a bonus round and I assumed I'd lost it. Logged back in twenty minutes later and the win was already sitting in the balance. Round history had the whole thing."

"Kept getting a restricted location message on my laptop. Turned out my work VPN had auto-reconnected in the background. Off, reload, fine."
British Columbia · 11 May 2026
"Everything loaded fine but Interac wouldn't take a deposit for about an hour. Tried my Visa Debit instead and that went straight through."
Alberta · 14 August 2026

What Changed Over the Past Year
| Area | A year ago | Now |
|---|---|---|
| Maintenance windows | Unannounced, any time | Overnight Eastern, flagged in advance |
| Peak-event load | Login queues on big fixtures | Shorter queues, rarely a full outage |
| Geolocation checks | Strict, frequent false positives | Fewer false blocks, clearer message |
| Payment outages | Whole cashier down together | Isolated per provider, others keep working |
Status Questions
Is BetVictor down right now?
Run the connection check on this page first. If your own connection is fine and the site still will not load, the outage is either at the operator or between you and it — a provincial ISP route, a DNS cache or a geolocation check. The outage log on this page records the incidents Canadian players have reported, with dates.
What happens to my bet or spin if the site crashes mid-game?
Slot spins are settled server-side, so a spin that was accepted completes and the result is applied to your balance whether or not your screen ever showed it. Reopen the game and check the round history. Live dealer rounds are settled at the table, and a bet placed before the round closed stands. A bet that never reached the server is voided and the stake is not taken.
Why does BetVictor say I am in a restricted location?
A geolocation check has placed you outside the province the account is registered in. The usual causes are a VPN left running, a mobile connection routed through another province, or location services switched off on a phone. Turn off any VPN, enable location permissions in the browser or app, and reload.
The games load but I cannot deposit — is that an outage?
Almost always yes, and a partial one. Payment providers fail independently of the casino platform, so the lobby stays up while one method or the whole cashier is unavailable. Try a second method before assuming your card is the problem, and avoid repeated attempts on the same one because they can trigger a temporary block.
How long do BetVictor outages usually last?
Most incidents Canadian players report are short — a payment provider blip of 20 to 60 minutes, or a login queue during a major sports event. Planned maintenance is announced in advance and usually runs overnight Eastern Time in a two to four hour window.
Can I get compensation for an outage?
There is no automatic compensation, but a bet or spin that was accepted and then lost to a crash should be settled correctly once the platform recovers. If your history does not match what you remember, raise it with support within a few days and include the approximate time. Round histories are the evidence, and they are kept regardless of whether your screen displayed the result.
Does clearing my cache actually help?
More often than it should. A stale service worker or a cached login script is behind a surprising share of "the site is broken for me only" reports. A hard reload, then a private window, then a different browser is the fastest way to rule it in or out — takes about ninety seconds and costs nothing.
